SERVICE: Vélocity will provide only simple repairs to non-electronic components of e-bikes while the customer is waiting. E-bikes cannot be left on Vélocity premises overnight. Vélocity reserves the option to turn down repairs based on the structure or condition of the e-bike or the mechanics’ availability.
DONATIONS: Vélocity will consider accepting e-bikes for donation on a case-by-case basis after their batteries have been removed. In most cases, batteries will need to be disposed of elsewhere.
These limitations are due to the fire hazards posed by e-bike batteries.
Customers are encouraged to dispose of e-bike batteries with a certified e-bike dealer or their local jurisdiction’s hazardous materials service:
- the Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Collection Center for Alexandria residents
- the Household Hazardous Materials (HHM) facility and selected fire stations for Arlington residents.
Customers may choose to consult Strictly EBikes at 683 N. Washington Street in Alexandria, which advertises services for many brands of e-bikes.
